CARIBBEAN EXCHANGES GOES LIVE WITH STT EXCHANGE SOLUTION

Securities Trading Technology, a global provider of financial services software and software-enabled services, today announced the successful go-live of their Exchange solution in the Caribbean Exchanges.

The Exchange solution is a comprehensive, end to end solution designed for stock exchanges. It includes an automated trading solution, trading front end, exchange management and surveillance solutions as well as central securities depository capabilities.

In early 2016, Securities Trading Technology (STT) won the contract to provide the new trading platform to the three exchanges. The stock exchanges in Jamaica, Barbados and Trinidad & Tobago have migrated to the new Web trading platform, which brings the exchanges closer together and includes the option of regional integration in the future.

STT’s system was chosen to provide higher performance, increased flexibility and new possibilities.

Mrs. Marlene Street Forrest, the General Manager of the Jamaica Stock Exchange said: "The Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) is pleased with the successful migration to the Avvento trading platform. We look forward to, in the coming months, exploiting the capabilities of the software through the delivery of new products and improved services. ".

Michelle Persad – Chief Executive Officer of The Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange Limited says: “Today the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange implemented a successful changeover from its previous trading platform to the Avvento trading platform. Our IT and Market Operations teams were tireless in their efforts to ensure a smooth transition and are excited about the possibilities of the new system.”

Mr Marlon Yarde General Manager of the Barbados Stock Exchange said: “The Barbados Stock Exchange (BSE)is pleased to be part of an innovative and historic collaboration with its regional partners, the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) and the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange (TTSE).

With the adoption of STT’s Avvento Trader engine, the BSE offers a reliable market infrastructure and a highly efficient trading solution for trading between banks, brokers, traders and clients in our markets.

The capacity for inter-exchange connectivity will provide a wealth of potential investment opportunities for both local and regional investors. STT’s trading platform is an evolutionary step as the BSE seeks to position itself as globally-recognized international exchange.”
